Tokyo Fashion

Tokyo Fashion is an online magazine about the street style and trends in Tokyo, Japan.

Ive been reading their articles for some time now, I really want to use some form of Japanese trend as my theme for next years fashion show and this website has really helped to inspire me.

Here are some of my favourite images and styles from Tokyo Fashion:

I really want her hair!!!

The Hime Gyaru trend is really starting to fade in Tokyo and lolita styles are much more popular, Ive also noticed bright colours and patterns becoming popular just like Korean styles.

Thanks for reading! What do you think of Japanese trends??

DIY : 3 layered bow

A while ago I was watching The Fashion Citizen and I saw Steph wearing this bow from h&m, I went and looked for but I couldn't find one so I decided to make one.

Here's Steph's blog : http://orangemilkpeel.com/

So here's an easy DIY:

You will need:
  • Scissors
  • less than 0.5m of fabric
  • A needle and thread/fabric glue

Step 1 - Cut out a rectangle of fabric double the size you want the smallest bow, Then cut out a rectangle 2 inches longer and wider and then cut out a rectangle 3inches bigger than the second.

Then go to my DIY Bows tutorial and follow Step 2 and 3 then come back.

Step 2 - Sew a long/wide running stitch down the middle and pull the fabric to gather it secure the thread, but don't cut it off
Step 3 - Use whats left of the thread to wrap around the centre to make the gathers even tighter It should look something like the image above ^^

Then repeat those steps with the other two pieces.
Step 4 - Place the smallest bow on top of the middle size bow and match up the centres, then stitch or glue them together. Then add on the biggest bow to the back of the middle bow.

Step 5 - Cut out another rectangle about A5 size and scrunch and twist this together.

Step 6 - Wrap this tightly around the centre and stitch or glue together as close to the last bow as possible, then cut off the extra.

Step 7 - Finally turn centre around/inside out to hide the raw edge. Then you can glue or attach any kind of clip you want and your done!!

You can also add rhinestones, buttons or any other kind of decoration you want.

Here's the finished bow! (Yay for scruffy baby hair!!)
As you can see this is a really bulky bow but its great for cosplays, as hime gyaru accessories and cute days ^^

Thanks for reading!! I hope you try this out and tell me how it goes!! ;)

Great Things Can Come Out Of Boredom

2 years ago I decided to start a sketch book and I vowed to fill  it! (well that didn't happen)
Because I'm a perfectionist I actually ended up ripping out a lot of pages.

However after a while I really got into watching Anime's, Ive always enjoyed drawing them too, last year I decided to try drawing them more professionally(ish)

Here are some of my favourites from my sketchbook (of course I used a reference, I'm only half asian)

Thanks for reading!! What do you guys think of my drawings??

Do you like anime??

Technic Nail Foils

During Fashion show week we spent most of the week in Winsford and we had the chance to go around the town at lunch, so we went into Body Care (used to be the body shop) and I found these Technic Nail Foils for £1.49!!

I've never tried nail foils before and seeing as other foils can cost £4+ a set I thought this would be a good opportunity to try them out.

(Excuse the eczema) there actually not as easy to put on at first as they look and it does take some practice but I loved the end result

I didn't keep them on for very long as they didn't stick properly(what can you expect for £1.49) but I must say I was sad to see them go!

I think next time I might save up and try the Myleene Klass Nail Wraps.

My mum thinks I look like her in this picture, do I??

Thanks for reading!! What do you guys think of these??

Stackable Bracelets

Stackable bracelts have been very popular lately and there is millions of tutorials on how to make these, which is why I didnt make one my self as I would feel like im just carrying on the chain however I did decide to give it a go!

I used embroidery thread and pink snake eye beads for this and it actually ended up matching the dress I made for my FMP.

I also got bored after and made two other bracelets with some beads I had left over.
I used Fimo beads on the left and hematite beads on the right.

Thanks for reading!! What do you think of this trend??
