Fashion Show poster

A while ago we were set a task to create a poster for our fashion show and we have been set tasks for each cad lesson so we can use these techniques in our poster. Here I have used CAD to draw around a image of Sohee a member of wonder girls using her image from Ceci magazine. I then filled in the colours & added my info using photoshop.

(Before)

After I submitted my poster I was told i should remove the ears as they were a little inappropriate for the posters purpose and the style they were going for.

(After)

Thanks for reading! What do you think of my poster? Do you prefer it before or after??

First Year Dress Photoshoot

Last week I had my first year dress photographed by Paul Longley (Paul's facebook page) to go in my portfolio, here are some of the pictures that I have edited my self.

Modelled by Jessica

I actually really love these two pictures although I think they work better before I put a grey layer on top to soften the light.

I may have to use this image un softened as a banner some where.

To crete the bamboo shadows I took some stock images of bamboo calligraphy and created my own bushes.

Thanks for reading!! what do you think of these images so far??

My illustration boards set 2

Two of my boards were inspired by Jason Brooks, I used a similar technique to colour my illustrations. I tried to develop my style by adding the leaf brushes in the hair of my illustrations; originally I created ink splatter brushes on Photoshop however I didn’t like the look it created so I opted for the leaf brushes, I thought that this would also fit in with the sustainable aspect of my collection a they link through nature.
I think that they do meet the needs of noir however I feel that the models don’t quite fit with the company as they tend to use European models and I have used Asian models as I thought that this fit with my Asian trend. I think that my boards are success full and I like the outcome.
I feel that my style has developed over the two years and I feel more confident illustrating digitally. I think my Photoshop and illustrator skills have also improved however I feel that I was restricted to experiment more with my style as I illustrated my collection for noir, I couldn’t experiment with more colours.
I think I could improve these with experimenting with more poses and I think I should have experimented with more techniques.

In all I much prefer these boards to my other two, I'm not sure what it is but I feel much more confident with these and in general just like the look of these more.

Thanks for reading!! what do you think of my boards??

My Jason Brooks recreation!

Another illustrator that I recreated was Jason Brooks, I decided to make a separate post for this as this was the recreation I spent the most time on.

Jason Brooks Original.

My Recreation.
Here I have put them side by side to compare them both. Looking back there are a lot of adjustments I feel that I could make however I'm quite proud and happy with the outcome.

This only actually took me a college day to do which is pretty good timing for me.

Thanks for reading! What do you think of this recreation??

My Illustration Board

For My last brief of the year one of my tasks is to create an illustration based on my final design, as soon as I had finished my design and researching other illustrators I had a(kind of) clear idea of what I wanted to do.

Illustrators that I have used as inspiration are Nadia flower(top) and Montana Forbes(bottom).

I started by taking an Image of Hyorin from a kpop band Sistar

And then drawing around her head and hand on photoshop

I then went through loads of resizing, drawing and scanning to add a figure to match the head.

I then spent around 3 - 4 days editing, colouring and experimenting and so far this is the illustration I have created mostly on photoshop.

At the moment I'm still a bit sceptical about some of this illustration, I have a feeling that this problem is going to occur quite frequently, this may or may not be my final illustration (just looking at this I can see things that need retouching!)

Thanks for reading! What do you think of my illustration??

Any feed back would be a huge help to my annoying Indecisiveness!!
